Dr. Rao is a Denver native. After
graduating from Cherry Creek High School in 1993, he attended Hanover College
where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with majors in both chemistry and philosophy.
After undergraduate studies, he returned to Denver for medical training
at the University of Colorado. Dr. Rao graduated from the School of Medicine
with honors and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical
Society. He completed an internship in general surgery and residency in
Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery at West Virginia University. He
served his final year as chief resident in otolaryngology and graduated in 2006
with multiple publications and presentations at national specialty meetings.
Dr. Rao returned to Denver in 2006 to
start his practice, specializing in the comprensensive medical & surgical
care of the ear, nose and throat in both children and adults.
He is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck
Surgery, American Association of Otolaryngologic Allergy, and Colorado Medical
Society. He serves as a Senior Clinical Instructor at the University of
Colorado School of Medicine. His subspecialty interests include nose
and sinus disease, allergy, voice,
and swallowing disorders. Dr.
Rao is married and lives in Denver with his wife, Suchitra, and their two year
old son. His interests outside medicine include hiking, mountain biking,
photography, and scuba diving.
